Sticking Accelerator Pedal
 

I currently own a 1988 560 SL and recently my car's accelerator pedal has been sticking. This only happens when the pedal is pressed down all the way. There are no obstructions that I can see that would prevent the pedal from returning. Any ideas for a quick fix before I send my car into the shop? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Lubricate the linkage going to the throttle body. If the problem persists after lubing check the engine mounts. If the motor lifts up to much it will bind the linkage.

That seemed to do the trick after I gave the engine compartment a complete cleaning. Now the accelerator pedal response feels like new again.
