It's really a big unknown. The value is only what someone is willing to pay for it. To me something like that isn't different enough from a standard SL for me to pay more. And even at that the R107 isn't that different during the decades long the production run for me to get too excited over any particular one.
The other issue is: Preproduction as in built in 69 as a 70 model year ( common. many makes have done this over the years. ) or preproduction as in factory prototype ( only one or two )? Last edited by 97 SL320; 04-17-2015 at 09:40 PM. |

The link goes to Amazon for some mirrors.
Proper model designation is 350SL R107. Post the VIN. No way to tell what it is without it. It may just be one of the early production R107s. |

This is the second forum you have posted this on. Pre-Production 1970 SL 350 Cabrio - MBWorld.org Forums
On both you have received responses and not bothered to answer. I am beginning to think this car either does not exist or you found that it is not what you thought it was. Post the VIN. |

Great looking car, without a serial number and a build sheet its worth whatever a clean 350SL is worth to you, nothing more.
