Question Broke the dash thermometer on my '87 560SL...what part number?

I was replacing the deteriorated tube that connects to the dash thermometer under the center of the dash. It pulls air down to the sensor, I believe. I knocked-off the thermometer from the housing, and snapped off the tip...bummer!!

I ordered a new "ambient temperature senor", but this is the wrong part. (It goes to the outside temperature read out, not the climate control).

Can anyone tell me the part number and name to the part that is this temperature sensor the sits at the center of the dash?

Thanks Dave O

Dave:
What you need is called the interior temp sensor. Sorry I don't know the part number. It's in the climate control parts group 83.

1986 560sl interior temp sensor

My interior temp sensor broke today. I am not sure what happend but it simply stopped working. The needle is all the way to the left and will not budge. It has worked effortlessly through the years.

Is there a fuse that could have gone? If not, what can I do to get this thing working again..the small things bug me so I MUST fix.

The problem is on my 86 560sl.

Thanks!!

Sure can==

It's part # 123 830 05 72

Available from Philip at Fastlane. $24.50

For some reason the parts search engine will not find it. Give him a call at 888.333.4642

Just noticed the question is a year and a half old....
Oh well, leave it for the archives.
