'91 300SL Staggered tire sizes?

(I posted this in the Tires & Wheels but got no replies...)

I'm switching from my 8J x16 ET34's to a staggered set up of AMG Monoblocks:

Front: 7.5J X 17 ET31
Rear 8.5J X 17 ET34

What would be the appropriate tires for the fronts and backs?

Thanks,

AL

Go to a tire site that has a ratio size chart (tire rack had one last time I was there but it's been awhile) and plug in sizes in the chart until you get the original diameter (stock wheels) + or - 3 %. then your speedo will be accurate.

Thanks. I use tires.com.
I'm not that concerned with diameter spec's as I can figure the rough equivalents using the tire calculator. Given that I'll have 1/2" less rim width at the fronts and +1/2" at the rears, I was hoping someone could give me some intel on what they've used for tires sizes at the front and the rears for happy handling.
