What is thrust augmentaion
I have a 1978 350SL euro, sold originally in Germany. It has no emission controls. The high idle warmup RPM is too high, about 2000 RPM and that is with the idle adjuster almost closed. So, I believe there is a vacuum leak somewhere. Does anyone know how the "thrust augmentation" control valve is supposed to work? It has rather large diameter connections to the intake manifold, large enough to cause leak related trouble if it is malfunctioning. I will remove the valve tomorrow for testing.

I have never heard of any 107 with that valve description. Picture of the part?

If it's not a JATO bottle, it must be an aux air valve.

Sounds like a poor translation of " Idle Air Control " -- " When AC compressor turns / Alternator sees a high load / Auto trans in gear, the idle is automatically brought up to spec.
