ADS ASR help please
I need to find an expert to help diagnose problems with my ADS and ASR. Have posted already here and in the Tech forum. Have searched the database. No joy. Please help before I resort to visiting a dealer....

Eddie, one of the "biggest" problems with these systems is that they have NO self-diagnosis. SO testing is done pin by pin thru a break-out socket-box.

Oh dear. Looks like a visit to a dealer. Spoke to one yesterday who promised that his guys can work on this car, and that he'll give me an estimate before any work is done

ASR malfunction good luck
Unfortunately, a lot of ASR malfunctions are due to faulty wiring harnesses. The insulation on th eindividual wires inside the harness jacket turns to dust and then things jiggle a bit and 'bingo' you have a fault. A common fault is the Electronic Throttle Acutuators, and the real fault is the wiring harness on them.
Another one is 'EAC/CAN' communication failure-- which means the electronic accelerator computer is not communicating properly with the Car Area Network (CAN). The main wiring harness to the computer chest has coaxial cables for the comupter-to computer, and the internal foam insulation crumbles and a short results (and no signal flow) at a sharp bend where the cables enter the computer chest at the bottom. Good luck |
Oh dear...
