300SL Front Suspension

Hi,

I'm about to change my front suspension and noticed that it is very similar to my 124. Are they interchangeable? Or is the 124 is not build to take the weight of the 300SL?
Appreciate any input.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly the part numbers are not the same and it will not bolt up correctly.

Thanks for pointing that out. Physically, them seem to look very similar.

I have changed the struts on both a 124 and a 129 (non-ADS). The procedure is the same, but the struts on the 129 car definitely have a bigger piston and they are two different MB part numbers.

Hi,

Does that mean although the part number differ, it is interchangeable? Just curious. Or it will affect the handling.

Thanks,

I am not sure what the difference there may be in overall size, just that the piston in side the SL strut seemed much larger than the 300E strut.
