Well, the 560 did not work out. BUT I did buy a 1987 420SEL. Rebuilt engine and transmission, new paint, no rust Missouri car. High mileage, but only 15k on rebuild. All new brakes, hoses, suspension, etc etc.

Picked the car up for low price

New tires. New chrome wheels. A pampered two owner car. PO had for 28 years.

Given all this, figured worth taking a chance on.

So now have blue/blue on grey SL and a black on black SEL.

Life could be worse.

When my car was shipped the idiot hauling it broke a window on the soft top folding it in cold. Refused to pay for damages, etc. I was PO'd. Anyway, he has to live with himself. Bought a new top. Arrived this week. Looking forward to installing. Bought new top rubbers while I was at it. Guess all I need now is contact cement and some stuff to clean up the ribs. What to do with otherwise good top? Having it sewn into bags to keep in trunk for shopping or whatever.
