Throttle Valve Switch Adjustment

I have an 87 560SL with high idle. With some very helpful articles, I have determined that the throttle valve switch is bad. I have downloaded directions on how to replace the switch and feel I can do it but I'm not quite sure how you adjust it once you attach it to the throttle valve. Could someone please explain this to a newbie?

One contact closes when the throttle is closed and opens as the throttle opens. The other contact closes at WOT.

Do you have any more detail on how to check and adjust it with an ohmmeter?

Let's back up.....HOW did you determine that the switch is the culprit?

Before getting carried away, check the usual suspects - vacuum leaks and idle air control. The latter is a very common issue for high idle, when the control board fails or the solenoid sticks, it sticks open and causes an idle 1200-1500 RPM.

I used the guys at JustAnswer and also did some online searches. No vacuum leaks and idle control valve is good. We connected a jumper from middle pin to outside pin and the idle went down to normal RPM's. He told me that this meant the switch is bad. I purchased the switch and feel like I can get everything removed to get to it but I just want to make sure it's in there correctly before I put everything back on. I understand I need to put an ohmmeter on the center pin and one outside pin and turn the switch til it reads closed. Just not sure of the details. I wish there was a YouTube video! I'm sure it's simple but im a little confused by the instructions in the manual. I'm a visual person.

Thank you Frank! This seems a little more detailed than the pages I printed off. Greatly appreciated.
