Motor mounts SL500

Hi guys, I have a 2000 sl500.
Checking motor mounts and looks
Like one was replaced and one wasn't.
Driver side is the one that has to be replaced.
Can you do the driver side , and not loosen
Anything on the passenger side? Any help
Will be appreciated
Thanks Rich

It depends on the car. Sometimes lifting the engine straight up gives more room, other times tilting it to one side is better. The passenger mount will flex enough before the trans , other parts usually interfere with lifting very high so I'd be OK with leaving it bolted down. If the mount can't survive this, it was already bad.

Be sure to disengage the fan shroud ring before lifting the engine. Remove the top clip, rotate the shroud a bit to unlatch then move it towards the engine. Putting it back on sometimes requires a person on the top and bottom to get all the tabs located before rotation.

As usual ,thank you for your wisdom.
Just seems odd not to change both.
How hard is it to change trans mount?
Thanks Rich
