Show Us Your Car's Interior

Fellow Pelicans -

We all know that the interior of a car can be just as beautiful and/or practical as the exterior, so we're asking you to show us what your cabin looks like! Did you keep the car's stock look or did you completely gut the interior? Are those gauges stock or did you add them for extra data logging?

We look forward to seeing your photos below!

I'll start it off with a 300 SL

Dmitry, I'm only speculating that the lack of response may be due to the absolutely stunning photo of the 300SL to start the thread. How does anyone follow that?! I'm not sayin' that these will get the ball rolling, but here's a couple of front seat shots of my 380.

Best wishes

Here's a 1963 E-Type:

An original (not "restored") 1961 300SL:

An original 1955 300 SL (note hinged steering wheel):

Finally, an original 1956 300 SL):

It's time to start prepping your car for Coffee & Cars with Pelican, happening on September 14th! Here's the gorgeous interior of a 300SL that showed up to our Coffee & cars.

Let's see some more of your own interior shots- post them below if you have any!

Is the iPad intertragted into the actual wheel or did you just use an adhesive to stick it on?

The tablet is cut into the horn pad, and when it is turned on, it displays all engine vitals (digital gauges) via Bluetooth from a module in the engine compartment.

Actually, the car was modified by Paul (mach 4), I had nothing to do with the engineering or the engine conversion on the car. I recently acquired the car, and have been cleaning, updating, and repairing the car. It will make it's first significant appearance under my ownership at the Legends of the Autobahn show on August 16, 2019 in Monterey CA.

I recall Mach4's posts about his conversion. He did a great job on the drive train, but I hadn't realized interior was also so well done.

If I could somehow merge my 300D and my 350SL, I would have one of those

By the way, what "vitals" are read out? Those diesels don't have many "vitals"

Actually, I renewed the interior. The new leather seat covers were provided, but not installed till I got the car. I did the cleaning and dying of the carpets. The tablet on the horn pad has a digital gauge panel that shows trans temp, oil temp, exhaust gas temp, and three others (can't remember). The Bluetooth communication module is out of the car right now, and needs repair. Once I get it figured out, I will be able to monitor the six gauges.

I haven't been here much over summer (building a new deck on house!) and missed your thread about the SLD. Great job!

I am back working on my 85 300D - just a few rust touch-ups. Both it and my 72 SL are running well, so no major work needed, thank goodness.

Here is a picture of my SL, just after I finished installing new carpets and a replacement console. The dash is brown and is original. The seat and door panel inserts were the same color (Seats now just mahogany, no inserts). I like your black dash better. Is that original? A cap? Or reupholstered?
