What is the significance of numbers on fuel injectors

The fuel injectors on our 1992 R129 all have the same MB part number 000 078 58 23 & all share the same Bosch part number. However, the numbers near the top of the injectors differ. In particular, mine have the number 166 and then the number under that varies ... 204, 205, 206, 207.
