Where is the idle speed contoler on my gray market 83 500SL?
 

In order to keep my 83 500SL from stalling I had to disconnect the wires to my idle speed motor. I suspect that there is a controller that is malfunctioning. Needless to say I can't drive around with the idle speed motor disconnected. It is idling at about 1500 at times.

Are there any of you guys that know gray market cars pretty well?

It's under the hood, it's about 4" long, and it will have one of the following numbers right on it: 0025450732 or 0025454032.

Thanks for the info Ron. I looked under the hood for it but so far I still cannot seem to find it. If anyone knows where they usually put this controller please let me know.

It was under the passenger side of the glove box.
