Mercedes 450 SLC ignition upgrade

People continue to tell me Mercedes 450 SLC needs copper plugs BECAUSE the ignition system has such low voltage/amperage.

So has anyone replaced the Mercedes coil and ignition module?

I have a MSD unit somewhere in my garage, I am assuming the distributor module can send the signal to the MSD unit.

Not trying for 75,000 volts, just more than the anemic 20,000 of the stock ignition module. I want to be able to replace everything as I have been saving every stock part I take off.

What year? Recommendation is non resistor plugs as the wires have resistors at the connectors.

"Copper plugs" have a center electrode with a copper core to better conduct heat away from the tip, this does nothing for conductivity.

I'd be real tempted to just use a 4 pin GM module on a heat sink and a GM remote coil. A some Euro cars ( Fiat , Triumph from what I recall ) used a GM module in a very expensive metal box.
