Revisiting the Hub centric spacer question

Hello, it's been a couple years since I asked but I'm still seeking an answer. Has anyone bought a hub centric spacer for a 82 era 107 that works with the hub? I need to add about 15mm clearance (just to put the center cap on) to use my Ronals on my 82 380SL. I've read so many threads and product descriptions that seem to counter each other. Has a product worked for any of you? Thanks, Andy

Exactly two years ago (7-4-16) you raised this question. See replies here:

What do you want to do?

EBay removed the feature where sellers could have articles, so I don’t have a link anymore, but H&R 25mm adapter-style spacers are the only ones I’ve been able to successfully fit. The 20mm spacers I have did not fit.

Fonzi, that was the kind of answer I've been looking for. A brand name and size that works. I've been reading forums for two years and looked at Frank's pictures of the ones he made, but that does not help me. I'm not sure what the confusion is...I just need to add about 13mm to my offset so that my rims stick out where they should and the center cap fits without the hub sticking through. Honestly, 25mm might be too much but that's the brand I was looking at. I have these beautiful Ronals and it kills me they're sitting in my garage for over 2 years now. Thank you both.

Would it help you if you were to purchase the spacers that I made?

hello Frank, yes, I'm sure it would. I don't really need 25mm (as per Fonzi's answer) and this week I'm going to test and see if that will even fit with out outer wheel rub. I'm baffled that with all the 107's sold, no company wants to do this properly. I appreciate all your help. Andy

Enough! Two years and the wheels are sitting in the garage. Paralysis by analysis. If you really wanted to mount those wheels you would have found the way instead of continuing this internet drivel.

With regard to the spacers that are mentioned above in post #2, they may be thought of as adjusters of the wheel's ET. In this case the wheel as manufactured by MB is ET49, with the spacer added the offset becomes ET30.

The spacer is 19mm thick, and is a light press fit into the wheel.
The bolts are 2 5/16" (58.7mm) long, measured from the bottom of the ball to the end of the threads. That bolt length, in combination with the wheel in question, and the spacer, yields an exposed thread length that equals the OEM.

Fonzi and Frank Reiner, I wanted to let you know that even though I followed your links several times over the past 2 years, I missed the page that has the pics of the H&R 25mm adapters posted on it - complete with model number. I actually got there from another forum. Today I finally went further on that link and found that page. I was stunned it was the two of you. The website it links to shows many Benz models so I have to find my SL in there.
