Hi guys. Been quite awhile since I posted but here I am stuck again. I need to replace a defective driver's side seat adjustment lever including gear assembly and I cannot find the part number or any supplier who has it. Can you help? Thank You. Mike

I believe that maybe this guy could help you. I’m not sure. I know he is parting out a lot of 107s. Most of them are SLCs, but he does have two 560sl and a 500sl r107 parts cars that might have the hacking mechanism found on later model r107.

If you just want the rear tilt knob on the back of early driver side seats, I’m sure he could help with that too.

Thank you for the info but what I need is the ratchet gizmo for raising and lowering the seat.

I believe he has it on the 560sl cars. The ratcheting gizmo is the tilt that raises the front and lowers the rear. Right?

well my experience is that the seat raises pretty much straight up or down. the may be a slight tilt both ways.

If you look at the mounting you will see the front of the tracks are secured by one bolt on each side. The rear of the tracks fit into brackets allowing the rear to raise and lower.

The 560SL will have what you are looking for. A 500SL 107 may have it depending on year..

My '83 500SL has the ratcheting seat. It works exactly as you describe. I always thought that was a standard feature in the 107, learn something new every day!

I think they switched to this type of seat tilt system around 1982-1983. I’m not sure which year.
