Diff prob

Hi people, just finished an engine swap in a 450slc with a sbc but unfortunately the diff cant handle the power. Does anybody have any suggestions?

A description of the operating conditions, clutch type (if manual), trans internal gearing, tire type, etc., would help.

The 210mm ring gear MB diff is quite strong, it was installed in the factory supported rally cars of 1980-81, as well as various road racers of the early '70s thru early '80s, many of which also received factory attention.

The 210 and 215 is used in Dodge Charger / Challenger / 300 type cars.

Hi Dude, thanks for your reply. I am running a trans with 3000high stall. but sorry I didn't tell you I've changed the diff and are using an earlier diff out an earlier merc because I want to run lower gears ( 3.63 ratio). The reason why I did this because Mercedes never released the 450slc in Australia with low gears. The only V8 gears in Australia are 3.08 ratio.
