Looking for R107 300SL parts in USA

I'm actually doing a M104 swap in my C107. I have the engine, trans, car, and a way to control it. Now I need to find a radiator, engine mounts, and the engine mount arms. The 300SL had a M103 which uses the same mounting arms as a M104. Anyone have a good source in America where the R107 300SL was not sold? Local dealers, to me in Indiana, are not interested in locating or selling me these parts.

Look up the part numbers using the EPC. It is a $75.00 annual subscription. You can then source parts by part number. There are also free versions. Here is a link which has links to them. http://www.mercedesmedic.com/epc/

If you can't locate sources by part number try the Mercedes Classic Center in Irvine, Ca. or online MB discount parts dealers. https://www.oediscountparts.com/parts/index.cfm?make=Mercedes-Benz&year=&searchText=0001586918&action=oePartSearch&siteid=215242

When ordering MB OE parts check price in several places. Many sellers charge more than Mercedes MSRP.

Thanks for the replies and I will be using the link to the free EPC.

However the r107 300SL was not sold in the US. That makes finding parts on the used/junkyard market unlikely. Im not sure where people in Europe buy parts for their cars. If I knew what sites to look for I'd just order them there and have them shipped to a friend in the UK or Italy.

I looked for the parts on the free epc and unfortunately they are not listed. However the part number for the 126, that does seem to share some parts, is A 60 322 306 04. With an A 60 number I wonder if it works for both. Probably not though.

The part number format should be 603 223 06 04 , in MB land the first 3 digits note what body or engine the part was first used on. It is common to find parts mixed between different models of cars.

The 603 is tied to a OM603 diesel. Given the SL was not sold as a diesel, these mounts came from something else.

There are a few people that put an inline 6 diesel in a R107 / SLC so dig around.

Although generally true I've found that engine related parts do not always follow this scheme. This A 60 322 306 04 part number is for a 300SEL. This is the number copied directly from the EPC.

I have seen diesel swaps but and no offence to those who may have done them right but I've also seen a few cut and weld solid mount swaps. My goal is to use the correct mounts for this chassis so its smooth and the drivetrain is aligned properly. I may look for more info on this but really what I'd like to find is someone who has done a M103 or M104 swap and is either willing to share part numbers or has them in their build.

I have found part numbers in this thread https://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c107-sl-slc-class/1564706-motor-mounts-300sl-1986-year.html

For a 300Sl, 107.041...
EPC shows part #A1072412513 for the rubber,
A1072411234 for the "screening plate,
A1072401240 for the bracket
A1072400022 for the guide sleeve

They are 107 specific. Great

What other car uses the r107 front suspension / sub frame? I'd start there.

The number you posted 107 240 12 40 comes up as 86-9 560SL , engine bracket, metal right side.

The mounts/brackets that bolt to the block used in the 107 300SL M103 are:
103 223 00 04 Left
103 223 01 04 Right

Thank you. Those numbers make more sense and have more hits. I wonder if they used them in anything else like a 126, 201, 129, etc.

I searched the EPC and found the US 126.024 300SE with M103.981 used them. I think the reason you could not find them in the EPC for the 300SL is they are not under section Engine Suspension. They are in Maj. assembly: engine, subsection engine suspension.

Don't invest time in getting better. The EPC is being phased out. The replacement is being kept secret. I can't find any information online other than the notification I received.

Here is a swap thread, I haven't read through the thread or looked for other posts documenting the swap.
