94 600SL

Hey guys I have a 94 600sl the front end is sitting really low, would it be cheaper for me to replace with coils? Or stock hydraulic?

There's nothing "cheap" about a 600.

I’ve noticed, I guess I’m asking would I be better off without the hydraulic suspension?

To try to actually answer your question (assuming you haven't already moved on since this was a while ago)...

It depends on why it is sitting low. Most common is needing the nitrogen globes. Not cheap, but easy to DIY replace. And then often good for a very long time. If you need to actually diagnose, then you need to find an indy who has the right knowledge and tools. That said, have you priced out front shocks and such? Even the non air suspension ones on an r129 SL are super expensive. Kent Bergsma (Mercedes Source) actually did address this from the DIY aspect in one of his videos on his r129 SL. Might want to watch that for a decent overview.

Cheers,
-Bruce

In my experience any MB with “6” on the deck lid will be a financial nightmare to own
