Convert 450SL to Manual Tranny?

Is there a thread somewhere on the internet that shows the process of converting a 450SL with an automatic to a manual transmission?

Start by finding a 3.5 m116 manual trans car.

T5 transmission to Iron Block M116/117

Look thru this thread to see how a bell housing and flywheel were created for an iron block M117 (the engine in a 450SL). The bell housing was created for a non-MB transmission, and the process could be used to adapt any similar transmission.
Finding a set of OEM MB V8 parts has a very low probability.

I did a Mercedes 5 cyl 3 liter diesel engine swap on my 56 Willys utility wagon using a bell housing from a 4 speed manual 240 diesel married to an NP435 manual transmission and it worked great!
