What part of zero do you not comprehend?
The hydraulic compensators maintain the clearance at zero.

The proper clearance is set with different thickness "hydraulic valve clearance compensating elements" (shims) that fit in the valve spring retainer. You will need the procedure and special tools to set the clearance. You might be able to move the shims around and get close enough.

Sorry, Tony; the operating clearance with hydraulic compensators is zero.
The shims that are in the retainers establish the position of the piston in the compensating element, and hence the geometry of the cam/cam follower/valve.
