SL for a Viper
I have had my SL for about a year now. Nice car , but the lack of a clutch has realy gotten me down. It seams I am never in the right gear for the curves in the mountains. I am thinking of trading it for a 98 or 99 Viper GTS. Does anybody know much about the Viper and how well it handles. Anything else you have would be great.

Kevin,
You have to decide whether ride and comfort, or performance is important to you. Viper is all about raw power, ride and comfort is only a secondary thought. Remember when it came out, the cars did not even come with window and AC? I test drove one last year and frankly, its not for me. You sit a few angle pointing to the left side becasue of the engine configuration and the ride is definitely aweful. But again, my criteria for a car is the ability to be used as a daily commuter if I choose to. The Viper is definitely not a daily drivable car, but a great track car. It is rather uncomfortable to get in and out of. I am by no means a big guy, and I bumped my head twice trying to get settled in. For the money, I would get something more versatile. There are plenty of cars out there that will serve you better for the kind of fun you are looking for, e.g. a '97 or '98 Porsche 911 TT if you want to spent that kind of money. A Viper with a V 10 will drain your wallet on gas (some will disagree, if you can afford a car like that why worry about a few bucks for gas), whereas a 911 TT will make your gas money goes further, and hence longer fun time.
