Repaint Rims vs. Aftermarket
How does the quality of aftermarket rims from a place such as Tire Rack compare to OEM? My 560 SL rims need to be reconditioned or replaced. /Are there certain safety features to the Mercedes rims that are not found in aftermarket (such as the ability to drive for a short-period on the rim after a blow-out). Thanks.

If your rims are not actually damaged, take them to a body shop and have them repainted. You'll save money and retain the OE rims -- an unbeatable combination.

Thank you for the advice. Since I'm going to repaint, I will likely get new tires as well, since I need to replace the two rear anyway.
Any recommendations for tires for a 560 SL. At the moment, I have the Pirelli P6000 Veloce Sport...very good in rain. Any other models I should be looking at?
