1985 500SL Cam's
 

I am the proud New owner 1985 500SL. I am currentley looking for a pair of Cams. I have been told that I have to get custom Cam's machined as no one makes replacement Cam's for this vehicle. I find that hard to believe.

I thought that I could order the same ones used for the 1985 500SEL or SEC. The Engines should be the same with the only difference being the Oil Pans. I could be wrong?

Other wise the Car runs and looks great, just has little or no power. Thank you for any help.

Don't believe it for a second. Camshafts for your vehicle are fairly inexpensive and widely available.

I have a set of 1983 500SL cams, with about 100k on them. Let me know if you're interested. Can send pic's.

I found the Cam's at German Star....There are 3 different Engin Numbers 117.963, 967 & 968 it lists the Cam for the 5.0 and 5.6.

Is the 963 the 5.0 and the 967 & 968 the 5.6?
