350 Slc

I have a euro 1977 350 SLC however I am 6'5" tall so getting in/out of the seat is a problem with my legs. I want to get asmaller aftermarket wood/leather wheel to replace the origional. Here (St. Petersburg Russia) there is virtually no knowledge available on the model. However the shops I have spoken to ask me if the steering hub/spine is the same or compatible with a MB 123/124.

Can somebody help me with this.

best regards, and thanks in advance.

Ed.

I think I might have responded to your question once before...but I'll give it another shot...

First of all, I don't know the answer to the compatability question. That being said, I have replaced the wheel on my 1980 450SLC using the following:

Momo Hub adapter #6002, from AutoSeattle.com
14" Teak Wood Steering wheel (universal 6 hole), from Ebay

The set up works well for me. The only draw back is that the smaller wheel blocks my view of the top of the speedometer. I've attached a picture here to show that. I'll send another post with a close up of the hub adapter itself.

Good luck,

Check Ebay...

Aloha Ed,

There's a listing on Ebay for a hub adapter that looks like it will fit your car.

Happy hunting,

Ray,

Thanks for the response. I have been away for about 10 days so all my E-mail etc has backed up.

I will follow your advice and contact nardi, momo and see what they have to say.

again thanks.

Regards
Ed.
