You might try reading diagnostic codes. To do this, I suggest getting a diode from Radio Shack with a built-in resistor for less than $2. It is P/N 276-209. Connect the positive to socket #3 of your diagnostic connector (shown below, X11/4) and the negative of the diode to socket #21. Then, take a wire a short socket #21 to ground for 2 to 4 seconds to trigger a code read. You can use socket #1 of the diagnostic connector for your ground.

While the short is in place, the LED will be on. When you remove the short, the LED goes off for a couple of seconds and then begins to blink-out a code. Repeat the process until you have read all of the stored codes.

You'll probably want to erase codes when you are finished. You do that by reading a code, waiting a couple of seconds, and then shorting socket #21 to ground for 6 to 8 seconds.

If you report back the codes you found, I will look them up for you.

Hi Bobterry, I have just looked at all the emails about the problem with Roll Bars not storing correctly and warning lights showing all the time. I have exactly this problem and despite asking different garages, the query is still unresolved. Crazy prices have been quoted and then there would be no guarantee. Although the matter was discussed a few years ago through you and others I am wondering what the outcome was and whether you resolved the matter. I live in a place called St. Asaph, North Wales, UK.

I hope you are still looking at this site. Cheers, Charlie
