Glad you asked!!!!!
I just acquired a 1984 euro r107 500SL. It has been sitting for 10 years in a nice garage in Florida. 75,000 miles. Going through it and replacing about everything fuel related, as well as rubber hoses. Gaskets, you name it. My problem is looking for parts! Nobody has parts for the part numbers I provide. There are OEM replacements. But then you still have to pick from 450 SL or 560. SPEND HOURS ONLINE.
Even Pelican, shame on you. Same as everyone else, when you go to their vehicle search it only lists up to 380sl. Or doesn't have 1984. I have restored and shown hundreds of cars. I work on a couple of show Porches, have no problem with parts. I've dealt with all German OEM dealers here and abroad. But never a BENZ! So for you hands on guys and gals, what is your secret. Who is your best go to source? This car is. Mint in and out and hardtop has never been on the car. Still on the stand with the Mercedes cover on it. Brokered out of Tampa in 84. I will setup some pics when I can get it running and off my lift. Any help would really be appreciated. |
