Gauge removal - or not?
 

I've read the posts on the other models gauge-cluster removal, but I didn't see anything particular to the 107 models.

How do you remove the gauge cluster? Just pull like the rest?

The reason I want to remove it is to replace the 3 low fluid indicator bulbs next to the "you have a light out" indicator.

Questions:
1) Do these 3 low level indicators (oil, water, and washer fluid) normally light when starting the car like the rest of the indicator lights? (Maybe mine are not really dead?)

2) Why doesn't the "you have a light out" indicator light up when another indicator bulb is out? I assume it only indicates an actual exterior-only light out?

(I tried a test where I unplugged the washer fluid plug from the reservior, but the light didn't come on...)

Yes just pull hard on it and it should pop right out. The lights do come on when you turn the ignition switch so the bulbs should be replaced. Good luck.

Disconnect that battery cable. An airbag mishap is expensive in dollars as well as teeth. It's probably worth sending off for one of those hooks like they sell in the Performance Products catalogue (probably have them on this site too). I bent some bicycle spokes and it worked, but the ones you buy are narrower and fit in better. You can ruin it (take a big chip out of the panel) if your wire isn't seating behind there really well. It's probably silicon'd in there, so you've got to be able to pull pretty hard.
