metal cleaner for steering wheel?
hey guys... just a little question... I have an origional Nardi steering wheel with some metal [chrome?] in the middle. It's not very shiny, and I was wondering if any of you know what to use on it? I tried this stuff called nevr-dull. it works wonders on the chrome [bumpers, mirrors, trim] but it doesn't seem to clean the wheel. I will post a pic soon of my wheel. Thanks

ok... I know nobody responded, so probably nobody has that steering wheel, BUT I actually found a cleaner that took all the old crap off. I used the mother's mag and alloy wheel cleaner, not sure of the name, but it's a yellow paste and you work it in untill it turns black. Then you buff it off. It was teh only thing that worked! I'll throw up a pic for the hell of it eventually

Actually I'm glad you posted this thread. I have the same wheel, but mine originally had shiny gold metallic paint. Is this the stuff that the cleaner took off? I ask because mine is badly worn in spots, and looks really cheesy.

If your wheel hasn't been lacquered, then most aluminum polishes will do the trick. Just remember to put a good coat of wax on it or you'll be doing again real soon. The wheels aren't too hard to come by, but the hubs are getting tough to find. Besides the obvious aesthetic appeal, the smaller diameter make life a little easy for big/tall/large driver.
