w107 CIS cold start question
Hi all,
I've noticed, now that the weather is getting colder, that when I first start my 450 it idles and revs fine in neutral, but as soon as a put a load on the engine and give it any gas, it stumbles and produces a series of poping noises from under the hood (backfiring I'd guess). Once she's warmed up for 2-3 minutes everything smoothes out. Is this a potential warm up regulator problem? Has anyone tried to rebuild one? I've previously, erroneously I'm sure, compared that part to the cold start injector on newer electronic injection systems and they're only active for at most a second or two at startup. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks for any insight. |
