locked left rear wheel

restoring 82 380sl . car was drivable when purchased.
finished interior and tried to move car in reverse. car locked in rear on left side. car rode up in air but did not go into reverse.
new calipers were placed all around new rotors in front. rear did not need rotors and also unable to remove them.
took off the tires and able to remove rear rotor left side.
i think the parking brake was locked or frozen tight. No play in the foot pedal in the front on the parking brake and appeats to be released when pulling the nob.
can't get the rotor back on the rear.
help!!!! are the cables shot ( how do i check?) the pads are ok on the brakes how can i close the width of the brake pads to fit inside the rotor? Is this a comman problem? i can't take the car to a mechanic because i can drive it .
Help!!!!!!!!

Unhappy

I hate to say it but I think it's time for you to hire a flatbed tow truck and have it towed in. Because of the design the parking brake is not easy to fix. YOu have to drop the exhaust out of the car and on some models you even have to remove the drive shaft. If you can't remove the back rotor I'd bet that the parking brake shoes are locked up. If you want to try to adjust it there are instructions on the CD rom, but if I were you I'd call in a mechanic.

I just thought of this.....if you didn't replace the brake rubber hose line it is possible that when you put your foot on the brakes the caliper is engaging, but when you release it the hose is collapsing so that the brake fluid pressure can't return to normal. Check the brake fluid level and caliper return. The calipers, by the way should ride slightly on the rotor.
