129 Armrest

The small black push button on the front of the center armrest of my 129SL has broken off. That button makes the armrest slide forward and back. Any ideas how to fix it? Or where to buy a used armrest? Thanks,

What color is the interior leather, and is the stitching a different color than the leather?

The button is black...has nothing to do with interior color.

Happened to me two years ago...daughter crawls all over the interior...

I started a thread on this one back then...
500SL Center armrest latch repair

The parts guy shipped me the part (about $6), and it took me about 30 minutes to install (including removing the armrest to do the swap.

Oh yeah, thread doesn't have contact info...

Thumbs up

Thanks, G-Benz!

I called Tom Hanson and he had the part in stock and I ordered it - but the price is now up to $8 plus shipping.

A bargain compared to a new armrest!

I didn't realize the part was available seperately. The reason I asked about the interior color is I have an armrest in just real nice shape. It is from either a V12 or a designo car though. Don't know what I'll do with it, but if I didn't take it, it was heading for the dumpster. I wasn't really actively looking to sell it, but saw the post and thought maybe I could "unload" it.

Gilly...what color is the armrest?

I know replacements are pretty pricey!

Talking

Did the repair today - pretty simple. The only "tough" part (not really) was that I had to push out the pin that holds the lever in place in order to lift up the lever to remove the broken piece of plastic. Good as new!
