Looking for center console cup holder for 500SL

I have a 1991 500SL and in my center console I have the casette holder compartment. I have been told I can pop this out and pop in the 2 retractable cup holder that is in the later model R129's. I called the dealer and they cant find it in their computers as a part.

Anyone have any links as to where I can find one of these? How much should I pay for one?

Can you put up a link to the cup holders?? I cant find them on Performance Products page. Just like G-Benz infamous reference to performance products subwoofer for the SL, LOL.

I agree with the other guy. You will probaly have to request one of their catalogs for SL's. You can try their 800 line at 800-243-1220. The catalog # for two is REf# 6059, price $79.95. For one Ref# 7008, price $39.95. The colors they come are Black, Blue, Palomino, Grey, Cream, Parchment, Burgundy, Dk Brown, Saddle, Dk Green.

I have tried to pop out the cassette holder in the center console of my 1994 500SL to install a drink holder with great difficulty.Does anyone know how take this out without breaking it?

I just removed the cassette storage from my '90 SL - I actually have removed the entire dash to replace a leaking evaporator. The cassette holder is removed in an entire assembly with the ash tray, and then it slides out of the bottom of the assembly.
You have to remove the radio and temp controller, then remove the wood console cover, the armrest and the top of the console. When you get it out, you end up with a nice black plastic box that would hold a cup holder nicely - before I put it back in I need to find one that fits.
