Not really a kit per say . . .

You need to get access to SI's to find what mods are applicable to your trans. It's IMPORTANT that you obtain ALL the LATEST version parts and the parts that are REQUIRED with them to COMPLETELY UPDATE your trans.

Thank you mpnye,

I assume SI means service instructions.

Are you aware of an archive or a keeper of auto trans information?

When I need SI's (Service Information) I have connections at the dealer.

On cars of that age. There are virtually NO technicians left in the dealer service depts. who have a SOLID background on cars OVER 30 years old. I know that MOST, if not ALL dealers would NOT attempt to re-build a trans of that age in-house.

If you have a local transmission shop that are GOOD GUYS, they may be able to do an ATRA search to see if they provide any info for your trans.

MB is a manufacturer that constantly updates and improves their products. That's why it's a MUST that you make sure that you have THE PARTS THAT GO WITH THE UPDATED PARTS. Make sure that you get the NUMBERS off the trans, as well as the CHASSIS (VIN) number.

I've had cars come into my shop where the trans was re-built by a shop who bought a kit which must have sat on the shelf for years. It has clutches with friction material which hadn't been used in a LONG TIME . . .

MANY people to opt to just get an exchange unit from MB, which has been updated, dyno run and READY to install . . .

I will explore the MB exchange unit suggestion.

You have an excellent point about the shelf life on seals, o-rings. etc.

Thanks
