Is it possible to add TeleAide to <2000 cars

I just bought a white 1999 SL500 with 28K miles on it. The thought of TeleAide appeals to me. Can the system be retrofitted into my car?

It's in the handbook of my 1999, so it must have been available. However, doesn't it work only in the Fatherland?
