oil leak
Hi everyone,
I've been cleaning up the leaks on 83 500sl. Replaced radiator, and hoses, car runs cooler. Also while I had the radiator out I replaced the front seal. I now have one or two drops of oil and a drop of ATF on my garage floor about once every 3 days. I've cleaned the bottom of the engine and as best as I can tell the oil is coming all the way down the engine and accumulating until it drops on the floor. It looks to me to be the back corner of the head gasket. I've read some posts here does anyone have any experience with this. It appears to be doing the same thing on both sides. There is a grate like cover (for lack of a better description) that I believe covers the torque converter. Again the ATF accumulates on the ribs of the grate and then drops on the floor. Would this be the Torque converter itself leaking? The car runs great, no blue smoke, not using much oil at all, I'd just like to not have to clean the floor of my garage, or leave spots when I pull in someones driveway. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you assistance. Marc
