Black Beauty almost left me stranded

I left work and drove about a mile down to the Standard Station for a cold Soda for the ride home. She fired up like normal when I left work. I shut her down and went in for a couple of minutes came out and she would not start. Shed turn over fine but no cylinders popping or anything its as if I pulled the coil wire.after about a half an hour of cranking it every few minutes I dribbled a little fuel down the intake she hit on the first tap off the key. I am going to replace the fuel filter, I have a New relay I could install but I dont think that the problem. it was about 78 out side and BlackBeauty was parked out in the hot sun allday so I dont think it was the cold start. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Steve - while I'm sure that you know BlackBeauty intimatley, I for one, haven't got a clue as to what MAKE, MODEL or MODEL YEAR you're talking about... that kind of info would be useful in guessing at the no start problem.

It could be that the fuel pressure is leaking down and you're experiencing vapor lock. The only real way to check for this is to attach a fuel pressure gauge.

A common cause for this is a defective fuel accumulator, part of the fuel pump assembly, but it could be a number of things causing this.
