Question 1985 280SL parts

Hi, do you have a place to get euro parts? Could not find anyone on internet. Car is 107 body style with straight six engine. Love it, but have a hell of time finding distributor, rotor and wires as well as spark plugs.
thx

The first thing I would do is check the engine code against U.S. models to see if there are any similar engines. I would assume that a 280 is the 110 engine, but check your car for certain.

For U.S. models, the last M110 I see is in the '81 280CE and 280E. They both have the 110.984 engine. Unfortunately, there's probably a lot of difference between a 1981 engine and a 1985 engine, even in the same class. If you don't have KE-Jetronic fuel injection, you're probably a lot better off when it comes to getting replacement parts. You might try calling one of the parts distributors and asking them. Or you could take a chance on buying parts from the '81 280E and hoping they work.

I wish there were more information available in the states on "euro" models.

Hi Henryk,
Congratulations! We have the same car!
Ours is a dark blue (code 904) with a blue top that we just had installed.
I have found all the parts I needed from http://brinsonco.com/
I talk to Tony or Tom in New Orleans. They give good prices and great advice. They also have a used parts yard in Memphis. Good company. I have discovered a fair amount since I bought this car 3 months ago. Write me if I can help. Barry

HenryK, I haven't checked this forum in a while, so I apologize for the lateness of this reply. I have the same car (107 body with the M110 twin cam six), and agree that it's a great car (mine has a 5 speed stick). I haven't had any problem finding parts for the car. I have bought most of them from Rusty Cullins, the "official" parts supplier to the SL mailing list. 800-741-5252, http://www.***************

John.
