photoshop? mspaint?

I once saw a forum (this site, or another) where people posted pics of their Benzes, then requested others to customize the photos- but I can't remember which of these sites it was on- does anyone recall seeing this?

And on a related note, which photo programs do most of you guys use for this stuff?

Thumbs up

Yeah, I remember it, too, but can't remember the name and haven't seen it lately. Seemed like it was primarily frequented by a young crowd (darked out headlights, carbon fiber, slammed, etc.) - what I think of as "spaetzel boys" (German version of "ricers") if that's not unkind.

I recommend JASC Paint Shop Pro as a very good value (cost versus features) for that sort of work. The current version is 8, so it's pretty mature as software goes.

I will second the PaintShop Pro vote. I've been using it for years and love it. You get quite a bit for your money.

PsP gets my vote too... I've been using it since it was shareware. Huge bang-for-the-buck.

Question Floating on a mud puddle effect

While we're on this graphics modification thread, how are those shimmering reflections created? Is it in PSP or a standalone app?

While you can build those kinds of effects using graphics and animation programs (PsP ships with Animation Shop) - these days most of those types of effects are created with Java scripts (see: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/reflect.htm) or with flash animation/movies.

(the little animated avatar up there by name is just a small animation I made where I applied an 'effect' of rotating color changes - in PsP)
