Bouncing tachometer
I'm new to the forum and to the MB thing. I have a 74' 450SL with 150K miles. The tachometer bounces like crazy and while cruising at around 65 (speedometer doesn't work), the tach reads at around 5,000 RPM? It idles at between 1,000 - 1,500, depending on engine temperature. I know this isn't right, but I don't know what the fix is either. Any help would be great! Thanks

tack
Tommy,
I had a problem with mine and come to find out, someone had rigged the tack wire to the wrong side of the coil. Plus I had replace my coil too when I discovered it. CK volts come from your coil. If that does work. I have a tack that I purchased, certifed to work. This has the clock in the tack. I have a 72 SLC. Hope to be of some help. Tim |
