Wow! I guess I am in good company. I owned my own business in Michigan for 14 years and then sold it.(Small, Fireplace Shop) Then moved to Florida in 2006 at the age of 42. Needed to because the weather up north was killing me(359 lbs.) More active now that I am in a warmer climate(Down to 243 lbs.) and working full time at "The Home Depot" for migrant wages, but took up the hobby of buying old MB's and fixing them up. My first one was one that I bought on Ebay for $1300 and I still have it and drive it everyday. You can see pictures of it at:[URL="http://photobucket.com/bradsscooters"]and my other two project cars are a 1984 300D and a 1986 420 SEL. These two will be finished by the begining of next year and then on the selling block. I just love working on these cars and the simplicity of them is just amazing! photobucket.com/bradsscooters.com

Government IT consultant. Not terribly exciting or glamorous but it pays the bills.

I am a Respiratory Therapist, not wealthy by any means, but got the car really really cheap about five years ago, and it's been a very dependable, good running car, bought it almost excellent shape!

Smile Good Life

I was a warden at a maximum security prison. Started out at the bottom - correctional officer I - and became the "man". (It was like being the door man at Noah's Ark, except GOD didn't tell everyone they had to play nice.) Now I own a pool sevice company. I clean them, fix them, and repair or upgrade equipment. My weekends are devoted to my grandson and my 560, which he loves.

I retired from the military in 2005. I now teach automotive technology. I have been in the maintenance field since the early eighties. I am one of those guys who is never satisfies until its done right and never quit learning. I was fortunately brought up by my father who had a gift with his hands. His legacy is carried on through me. From welding to Wiring in a house.
I have taught electronics, automotive hydraulics, electronic transmissions and troubleshooting. Most of it gained through experience.

One of the gates I built.

I am a moderator at the diesel place website for the 4L80-E transmissions

Ok here goes

Drove a truck for a chemical co. for 25 years age 19 to 44.

I Helped out in an auto body shop in my 30's.

Bought and ran a tavern with bands and Dj's for 10

years. age 27 to 37.

Bought my own truck and hauled tankers for 2 years

age 44 to 46.

Did home construction and remodeling age 24 till present.

Bought remodled and resold houses and rented some of them out. Still have one rental.

Helped my nephews out doing construction for a year or so age 46 to 47. Then I went in to full retirement.

I have a couple of customers that I come out of retirement to do work for.

But I got bored ,so for fun I help out at a marina in Cape May New Jersey, where I keep my boat,

(The American Dream), from mid oct till dec 24th

and from mid april till mid may when I put my boat in the water.

Most of the money the marina pays me I give back to pay for my summer slip and winter storage.

I live on My boat in the summer .NO work in the summer.

Mid oct. till dec 24 I live in our house in the Wildwood Crest in New Jersey, also from mid April till mid May.

The Winter ,Late Jan till early April I live in my home in Key Largo ,Florida. No work while in Florida.

only boating , fishing , cruising , sightseeing, and bar hopping by car and boat. The rest of the time I live in my house in New Jersey near Philadelphia Pa.

Oh yea I have a 1986 Ford F250 4x4 full size pickup

black with 125,000 miles.

A 1973 Harley FX 1200 kick start only with 6 over front end and a weber side draft carb. ????miles

A 1987 SEL 420 midnight blue clear over black,

with 229,000 miles. Soon to be retired and replaced.

Still runs good and is very reliable.

A 1995 SL 600 black with 65,000

The Mercedes,, I guess it is my 100% German heritage .

The SL is the finest production model automobile made.

The V12 is the best of the SL's .

Fast, nimble, solid, RELIABLE, it is a pure pleasure to drive but you already know that.

Next you'll want to know what our hobbies are.

Ha Ha

My SL looks very much like yours down to the amg style wheels.

The thing is I just can't seem to wipe the smile off my face when driving it.

I try to look serious and then smile creeps back on to my face.

I have had the SL 2 years and I just turned 56

I think I was 53 when I bought it.

I'm a remodeling contractor and have been, full time, for the last twenty years. Did the same thing part time ( and basically alone) for the previous fifteen years. Owned (with a couple of partners) some appliance stores for about ten years. No more partners! Also, I was a sales rep for about seven years. If I'd had a vehicle to drive like my present SL500 I might still be on the road!
