W113 Seat Adjustment question

My 250SL seats do not have a knob to adjust the seat back
angle. I looked at a 230SL recently which did have a knob.
My owner's manual shows the knob. I would like to be
able to adjust the seat back since my wife needs a pillow
in able to drive it. Is anyone else missing the knob and
if so did you consider changing the seat?
Thanks.

All W113 cars should have the large round knob to adjust the seat back angle and the tall thin lever used to fold the seat forward for access to the area behind it.

Does the chrome trim plate have a hole for the knob & rod? You could take off the chrome trim plate to see if the mechanism is in the seat and you just have to install the parts. Perhaps someone installed your seats backwards, that is the left seat is on the right and the right is on the left. Look on the other side of the seats for the hole in the chrome trim, or the knob itself.

I have the small rod to release the seat.
The chrome cover on the outside of each
seat is blank but the inside has a slot.
That slot is covered with a small patch of
material. Underneath the chrome cover,
a metal bracket has a long slot that looks
like it might be the base of an adjuster.
I am going to compare my mechanism to
other W113's to see how much difference
I have. I feel that my seats can be
matched with the correct knob which will
give total adjustment control.
