Question Some things on my 75 107

I finally got the car from my dad and had a chance to drive it for a while. First thing is the suspension make some awful noises. To me it rides like the shocks are bad but the noise makes me think it could be something else. An example would be it sounds like I am driving on a gravel road when I am on a smooth stretch of highway. Second is in the steering wheel, when backing out of a driveway with even the smallest dip I get a knock that I can feel through the column and into the steering wheel. Maybe ball joints are to blame for these 2 problems along with the shocks? Third is the way the car runs, up to about half throttle power comes on smooth without hesitation. If I flat out floor it the car will stumble and act like it is getting no fuel (or air) at all. Then it will sputter out and come back after letting off the throttle. Fuel distributor was cleaned and fuel filter was replaced. Could it be an injector or 2 or (gulp) more? Other problems are age related and are on the long list. But ride and safety are on the short list so I need to get them taken care of. Thanks in advance for replies!

check for recall sub frame 450sl

Dont delay! have subframe checked for cracks or breaks at 4 bushing points on a-arms upper and lower. Mercedes had a recal on these and safety issues very important! Other items are tune up solutions good luck PS Had subframe break! Abe G

I have done a search on the subframe and have come up with different things. Most are about the bushings, you mention something about a recall. Do the replace the entire subframe or just repair it? Is the subframe cracking or bending? I'll check with my Dad to see if he ever had it done. I also plan to replace the driveshaft support and upper/lower ball joints. Oh yeah, shocks too. I like the ride to be Mercedes quality, right now it's rattle trap.

I found out that the inspection for the recall had never been done so I am taking it to the dealer to have it inspected.
