Question Cats on 75 107

I am having a hard time finding exhaust manifolds for a pre 75 or post 76 model 107. I want to get rid of the underhood convertors. If I pull them and make them hollow will the underhood temps go down? I have an exhaust leak on the driver side that I think is at the manifold so I would be taking them off to fix that anyway. I want to get rid of the cats for imroved flow and to reduce heat and wallering them out is all I can come up with. Not many salvage yards in south Texas with Mercedes in them, much less 107s

Unhappy

Still no luck finding manifolds. I did a search of the forums and couldn't find anything. I checked with timevalve and they only have exhaust systems and not manifolds. I remember seeing a post about the swap but maybe it was on another site. I guess I'll just try and get the guts out of the converter and see if that helps.
