Wheel hard question.

Here is my dilemma. I bought a 97 SL500 and the 16" phone dialers that came on it need to go. This car is a "pre having babys" car(since it will be unpractical once you have a baby) and really do not want to put and $$$ into the car but i am going to upgrade the wheels.

I have been looking around and have found some reasonable price rims but they don't seem to be the quality rims I want to put on this great car of car. I decided that I would go with some AMG's that you can find on e-bay for (new or used) from 1000-1500. Now the decision is should I go with a set that has 245's all around or should I go with the 245f/275b.

Is the 245/275 combo better than the 245/245 setup..... Will you feel a performace difference between the two. I had a 350hp 90 mustang with 215F/285r but that car could only go fast in a straight line so I really don't know if the larger rears would be better to have.

I know you can't rotate the tires but then when you only put 10,000 miles a year on the car i don't think that i would have to rotate them that often... What should I do?

Many people have had much debate about tires before here on the forums - why not do a search or start here....

You're not supposed to rotate tyres anymore these days. I have no idea why.

I prefer the staggered set up. I love the look of the fat rim on the rear.

You might want to use a 235 on the front to avoid rubbing. This is what MB recommends, although other board members say they have had no trouble.
