WesBender,
My in-laws were retired in Green Valley, but spent the summers in Oregon due to the intense Arizona heat. I always enjoyed Madera Canyon and Nogales, Mexico when we went to visit. Tubak, the town with all of the artists, was always a pleasure to visit too.

Above is pic of my Božana (Bozhana), more pics on that site.

I was born in Serbia and Montenegro (formerly known as Yugoslavia and currently known for shoting down the USAF "invisible airplane") and for quite long now I live in South Africa (all time known for gold and... heh... diamonds).

Close to Maracaibo, Venezuela on the other side of the lake.
Oil town. Acctually too hot to go around with no top, but the mountains are 1 hour drive from here.

Cool

Hello, my name is Lynn Sorensen. I am 55 and living in sunny Southern California (real close to John Wayne's Orange County Airport and Newport Beach).

I bought the following 1989 560SL silver blue on dark blue top/interior in 1999 with 30K miles, tweeters in the door pockets, upgraded dash speakers, 6x9's in the rear, factory Becker cassette that I connect to my portable MP3 player. It currently has 60K miles with new 15" chrome wheels (original style).

Where do you live

Hi! I'm in Pittsburgh, PA, and I think I'm the only Pittsburgher who visits this forum!! I've been longing to find a more experienced 500SL owner who knows good mechanics, etc., to no avail! I do belong to the local MB club, though, so I'm slowly catching on. This forum is a great help. Here's a photo of "my baby" while she still lived in Florida. I bought her on ebay. Bill

hey! Fellow Champaign-Urbana resident here. I didn't know there were so many people here with the U of I connections. Is there anybody in for a meet sometime? Perhaps when everybody is coming back (homecoming weekend or something)?

I know there is at least one other Champaign resident on this board and a few more I could get together - there's a guy in town with a gullwing, another man with a couple amg's and a '94 E500. Also a '55 190sl (silver on red).

Anyway, let me know - it could be fun! Get some pizza at Papa Del's...

Hey Bigpoppabenz -- I grew up in Champaign -- CHS class of 79, U of I class of 84. I drove the SL down from Deerfield last summer -- made a real dull drive so much better. Top down for most of the trip.

KenSilver isn't the only one from NZ, and isn't even the only one from Wellington. I have lived here for about 10 years, and also live on a hill overlooking the harbour. I'm not quite sure where he got the 900,000 population figure from though, it's more like 135,000 in central Wellington and about 300,000 including the greater area including the nearby Hutt Valley, Porirua city and the Kapiti coast, all about an hours drive radius from central Wellington.

It's staggeringly beautiful here, just a little low in ideological and artistic diversity because of the miniscule population base. Kind of New Zealand in a nutshell really. The isolation from the rest of the world is our greatest selling point but also the source of a huge "little guy" chip on the country's shoulder. We as New Zealanders have to always prove that we are as good as the guys from the BIG countries..

Luckily we are usually better..

:-)
