R107 Water Drainage Channels
My 1983 380SL suffers from small pools of water which accumulate on both sides of the top of the scuttle next to the hood hinges either when it rains or when I wash the car. I'm sure that this is not intended to happen and that there must be a drainage channel somewhere, only thing is I can't find it. Can anyone shed any light please?

drsaining water pools
Use 1/4 inch drill at bottom of area (carefully, check clear under drill hole) this will clear standing water, and also in front body areas near radiator. I did this on my 450 sl (1977) and no problems weith water! Abe G

Indeed...
Yes correct answer ;-)
It is indeed a welknown problem. Drill holes in the middle, about 5mm. , so the water can run away. Just check that the back side is clear before drilling !! Do not forget to treat the whole surface and the hole with anti-rust.
