Should my R129 cruise control lever be floppy?
It's got about 1" of up and down play, and is frictionless - just sits in the down position. When I want to set it, I just need to lightly press it to the top - hardly any pressure needed when it reaches there, and that sets it.
It feels quite different to any other cruise control I've used, but I haven't had the chance to try another R129 for copmparison. Should it be like this? Ken Silver -------------- ~1993 SL500, glistening blue-black on black leather, xenons, no headlight wipers (from choice). ~1991 Daimler, shiny grey on grey leather, best in country! ~1991 Miata MX5, sparkling BRG on tan leather, wife's (but my polishing) ~1992 Honda US s/wagon, black/grey ex 350SL, 230E, 280E (and a lot of other makes not nearly as nice) |

I don't think that is normal. Mine has no play at all. It sounds like it has something gotten loose somewhere.

Very little pressure is needed to move the switch, but it should not sit in the down position; it should sit in the middle position with no looseness.
