Sunvior clip removal

My sunvisor tab on the visor broke on 88 560sl. I was able to purchase a replacement tabs for $15 per two.(on the visor) but I can't get the visor rod to slide for me to install a new clip. Any suggestions?

Loosen the screw and turn visor up and pull.
See my picture I hope this helps.

Where did you get the clips?

Thanks!!

Thank you. I will try to position the visor as you described as install the new clips. I got the clip from Frank. You can email him at Visorclips@aol.com .

These clips should solve broken clip problem experienced by lots of 107 owners. I paid $15 for set of 2 clips.

Ugh, I just paid $50 for clips (eBay). Thanks to this forum I figured out the trick to getting the rod to slide off the clamp. However, the new clips are extremely tight on the rod and it took a LOT of effort to slide them up the 1-2" needed. Is this normal? Unfortunately, I messed up my vinyl a little bit trying to force these guys on.

Also, during the process of trying to get the new clips on the rod, the set screw fell out of the visor. I got it back in but it doesn't feel right. Is there a trick to getting the screw to seat back in the clamp correctly?
