Question 1974 450SL Floor Pans

Is there a source for replacement floor pans for this car? Mine have been replaced by a hack, and need to be taken out and done right.

The only place I've ever seen them advertised is K&K Mfg. http://www.kkmfg.com

I searched extensively - I think Mike is right in that K&K seem to be the only company stocking 107 floor pans.

I was lucky enough to find a genius of a restorer who made perfect reproductions of all four pans in both of my SLs. Cant tell them from original. Not that thats much use to you.

floor pans

this is one of those times when you may make out better at the dealer i got an oem pan for 135- which is retail 105- wholesale three day wait the thing is that if you dont need to replace the whole pan from the gas pedal to the rear crossmember you should go with k&k i think he sells each side in three sections buy what you need . if you need the whole thing oem is the way to go they fit perfect i did the drivers side in my sl in apprx. 6hr.s from demo to undercoat [i've been doing this for a while] but the result is nice and clean .one other thing with oem on the pass. side there are two pans one shaped for the cat. under the floor and one without this contour so you may want to check that out

Gene,

Heck I never even thought to check with MB in New Zealand for genuine parts. Somebody told me a couple of years ago that the pans were dear as hens teeth and typically 6-8 weeks from Germany. I think he claimed to have paid $AUD2000 for the pan on one side and the three pieces to the sill (rocker). Should have done my own homework I guess. Ah well.... have completed both cars now so I guess its too late to worry about. Makes me think twice about checking on genuine prices next time though.
